Second World War: During the early war year 1-4 Bombay Grenadiers was converted to a 'Motorized Battalion' serving with 2nd / later re-designated 252nd Indian Armoured Brigade, and deployed overseas in July 1941, where through to 1946 the 'Grinders' served in Iraq and Persia
