Important: More than 30 x company's were authorised to manufacture Iron Crosses during the Second World War, however all produced their medals from 'Master Dies' provided by just one company 'Steinhaur & Luck', whose chief engraver, Emil Escher, had been responsible for the design of the 1939 Iron Cross
