After leaving the Merchant Navy, Edward established a very successful Ships Stores / Ships Chandlers business in Bristol, England. He is recorded as having died at, Clevedon, Somerset, England on, 6 September 1962. At the time of his death he left a substantial estate of value GBP 36948 & 17 Shillings
