Mention-in-Despatches: Lieutenant-Colonel Horn, Royal Army Service Corps, had the award of the MID published in the London Gazette issue of 23 May 1946, which preamble to the award states:

The KING has been graciously pleased to approve that the following be Mentioned in recognition of gallant and distinguished services in the Mediterranean Theatre

Unquote.

Reginald Ettrick Havelock orn served with the 1st Battalion Madras Regiment during the Waziristan campaign of 1921-24. After leaving the Indian Army, he saw further service during the Second World War with both 2nd Battalion Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry and the Royal Army Service Corps in North Africa, Italy and Greece, for which he was Mentioned in Despatches, as a Lieutenant-Colonel (London Gazette 23 May 1946).
