France: National Defence Medal (Medaille de la Defense Nationale). Paris Mint model. Second class, or 'Silver' grade, with 2 x clasps ' GENIE' & 'Missions D'Assistance Exterieure'
The clasps denote specialist skills as a qualified 'Military Engineer' serving with the French Army Corps of Engineers, and geographic service in recognition of deployment during 'Overseas Missions of Assistance' (for example humanitarian support, providing relief in places that have suffered natural disasters, etc)
The clasp 'Missions D'Assistance Exterieure' and is now obsolete and is no longer awarded with the medal
Medal riband fitted with a two-pronged mounting pin, or 'Epingle', as worn in the French style
The medal is contained in, and sold together with card box of issue
